It’s okay, I understand. It is better to be moving than not at all. Automatic is your friend if all you want to do is get going.

Get comfy and familiar with the controls of your car is one of the most important things when learning to drive.

Dashboard

Shows you the speed, oil temperature, fuel level, and all the other vital information about your car.

Steering Wheel

This big circular thing controls the direction of the car.

Pedals

The one on the right is called the accelerator, or “gas”, which speeds up the car, while the one on the left is called the brakes, which slows down the car.

Gear Lever

This stick controls the what gear the transmission is in.
It has P, R, N, and D written on the side, which stand for Park, Reverse, Neutral, and Drive.

3  |  Starting Up

Start up the car by stepping on the brake pedal and inserting the key into the steering column.

Or, if you have a fancier car, step on the brake pedal and press the engine start button to start the engine.

4  |  Get Moving!

Once you get situated, step on the brakes, put the car into drive and release the handbrake.

Let go of the brakes and your car will start to move forward slowly once you let go of the brakes.

Give it some gas and start driving!
